Primary and Secondary Food

The food we eat is only part of what nourishes us. It can be called secondary food. We often eat more than necessary because we are "malnourished" in other areas. I call these areas, for example relationships, career, exercise and spirituality primary food. They nourish you on a deeper, substantial level. Identifying malnourished areas and starting to nourish them again is a crucial part of your transformation journey and will positively impact your eating habits.

Mindfulness-based Awareness

Being mindful means firstly being in the here and now and secondly not judging the moment. By training mindfulness, we  can reduce stress and thus promote health , since stress has been shown to have a negative effect on physical and mental health. If you learn to be more mindful in everyday life, you can, for example, perceive which behaviors are good for you and which are not.  Also in relation to your diet . Mindfulness and the resulting insights are important steps on your path to change! Your mindfulness will be encouraged both in our work and through targeted exercises.

Transformation and Information

While I have a broad knowledge of nutrition and health to share with you, I am not a knowledge expert. And that's not what matters in our work either: information is more accessible today than ever before. If you want, you can generate all the knowledge you need with one click.  A lack of knowledge usually doesn't stop you from making changes . What is stopping you? I make it possible for you to find out and change that. Together we create a space in which your change, your transformation, can take place. I'm an expert on that.

Cooperation with other experts

As your health coach, it is very clear to me what I can support you with: to change your diet and lifestyle in the long term and to improve your health and well-being. However, this can also include, for example, clarifying medical aspects or that you receive therapeutic support. I am happy to work with your health workers and recommend you so that we can achieve your goals together!

Intuitive-based Eating

Intuitive eating was coined by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, two American dietitians, in the 90s. They experienced a problem, which was also proven in numerous studies: Over 90% of diets fail long-term. And even more, they can lead us to develop disordered eating habits or even an eating disorder. They also slow down our metabolism and can harm our gut health. Understanding and integrating the 10 principles of intuitive eating will help you to connect with your natural hunger and satiety cues again, leave diet culture behind and find food freedom.

Bio-Individuality

There is no one way of eating and living that works for everyone. Likewise, there is  not one ideal weight   for everyone. We are unique and so are our bodies. Vegan/vegetarian diet, paleo, low-carb, low-fat, keto, intermittent fasting, getting a certain amount of sleep or exercise - what works for one may hurt another. Likewise, it's possible that a certain diet or lifestyle worked for you for a while, but now it doesn't. Together we will find out what is good for you and what your body needs. And also how you can implement it, because we work differently there too.

You are Your Own Expert

You know best what you need, what is good for you and what is not. Often, however, we have forgotten how to listen to and rely on our inner expert voice and look for support outside. I would like to let your inner voice speak again and become present . Of course I will share my expertise with you and make suggestions for your change. But at the same time, I encourage you to find out for yourself what you need and to take charge of your health and well-being.
